Abstracts are now being accepted for the 6th Annual AORE Research Symposium. The symposium provides an international
forum for scholarly exchange relevant to outdoor recreation, education, and leadership. Abstracts should present quantitative
and/or qualitative research findings -or- conceptual/theoretical discussions pertaining to outdoor recreation, education, or
leadership techniques and methods; outdoor recreation behavior; or advances in research methods. Applied and theoretical
submissions are encouraged. Only data that have not been previously published or presented at another professional conference
should be submitted. Papers are presented either as formal oral paper presentations or as posters. Only studies completed at time
of submission will be considered for oral presentations. All abstracts undergo the same blind review process without
consideration of presentation format requested. Questions regarding the research symposium should be addressed to Dr.

Forum: Cultural Heritage and Values: Communication thru Tourism, Plovdiv, Bulgaria, 06.-08.10.2010

Invitation to submit abstracts or full papers for the International Forum “Cultural Heritage and Values: Communication
through Tourism” in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, 06.-08.10.2010. The event is organized by the Intellect Institute and supported by several universities. You can learn more about the event and the conveyor in the attached documents.

The following suggested topics are part of the forum scientific track:
  • Cultural, creative, wine, wellness, adventure, eco and religious tourism as main vehicles for getting the cultural heritage and cultural values message to global audiences.
  • Local and global aspects of culture communications through tourism.
  • Technology as tool in the travel business to communicate the message - cultural geographies through GPS-tagged apps, social networks, Online Travel Agencies (OTAs), online media, Travel 2.0., technology of visualization methods used for travel promotion, etc. as vehicles for getting out the message about cultural values and cultural heritage. 
  • Destination Management Organizations (DMOs), governments’ and NGO’s tourism policies role in communicating cultural heritage and values. Regional, national and local aspects.
  • Preservation and communication of cultural heritage - the role of the tourism. The problems and controversies. The solutions.
  • Sustainability, cultural responsibility and social engagement through tourism. Known and arising issues.
  • Other topics related to the forum theme or a combination of all above
