This year Port of Lisbon has 13 newcomers on May, six new cruise ships
 The port of Lisbon will receive 13 inaugural calls this year, and already in May, with 6 ships calling the port of the Portuguese capital for the first time, on May 2 is expected the arrival of the Grand Holiday that belongs to the fleet of Iberocruceros, the first call in Lisbon is part of a cruise itinerary starting and finishing in Barcelona and calling the ports of Sète, Gibraltar, Mahon and Portimão.

IJmuiden opens terminal on May 4 with the arrival of MSC Opera
 On May 4 MSC Cruises? MSC Opera sailed into the IJmond port in IJmuiden to a tremendous welcome. Her passengers were the first to embark at the 1,916m2 Felison Cruise Terminal which, less than a year ago, was only an idea but is now catering to partial turnarounds.

Santander waterfront poised for iconic building
 In June construction begins of the Botin Art Centre which is sure to become an emblem of Santander and will be one of the main elements of the waterfront.
The centre is due to open in June 2014, coinciding with other major events that year such as the ISAF Sailing World Championships and the Tall Ships race.
Architect Renzo Piano from Genoa, responsible for buildings such as the Georges Pompidou Centre in Paris, the International Airport of Kansai in Japan and the Welstadthaus in Cologne, has been commissioned for the project which will be his first in Spain.

A Coruña receives 8,000 visitors in five cruises in two days
 Tuesday, 8th May: <Brilliance of the seas>, on inaugural call, with more than 2,000 passengers. <Silver Whisper>, with 270 passengers, and <Aida Blu>, with 2,200 passengers.
Wednesday, 9th May: <Silver Explorer> with 150 passengers and <Discovery>, with 750 passengers.
During this month there will be two new dual calls, on 19th and 23rd. In total, the port expects to receive in May 18 cruise ships, with an estimated occupancy of 15,000 passengers.
