III International Mountain Congress – cim2007
Following the
two editions in previous years, the Desnível
Adventure Sports Association (Desnível) and the Estoril Higher
Institute for Tourism and Hotel Studies (ESHTE), are promoting the III International Mountain Congress – Sports and
Active Tourism in 2007 (cim2007), that will take
place from 23rd to 25th November 2007 at ESHTE’s
auditorium.
Cim2007 has the main
objective to gather national and international speakers, as well as other specialists
and organizations linked to the environment, active tourism and adventure
sports, to debate and deepen subjects related to the mountain and sports
animation. Besides presenting the different sports practised in the mountain, CIM has been focusing on gathering, in a
widen debate, the different participants in the mountain, a rich and preserved
territory. Innovation and technologies, training, risk, regulation, health,
physiology, entrepreneurship and sustainability are some of the subjects of this
great biennial forum which is already in its third edition.
This congress
is sponsored by AMFORHT (World
Association for Hospitality and Tourism Education and Training), in the worldwide
promotion of the congress and in the support to the presentation of speakers of
recognised international merit. (www.amforht.org).
The main
objectives of the congress are:
- Presenting
and discussing important issues in the practice and development of tourism and adventure sports in Portugal;
- Promoting the
exchange of knowledge and experiences between practitioners,
instructors and professionals interested in outdoor activities;
- Analysing
animation and adventure sports potentialities so as to promote social integration, autonomy and citizenship reinforcement, especially for populations with
different types of limitations;
- Analysing and
discussing relevant models in the field of training,
certification and credentials of technicians and instructors
of adventure sports;
- Presenting
and debating aspects related to the risks
involved in practicing adventure sports;
- Presenting
and discussing techniques and specialised knowledge relevant to the
practice, organization and promotion of these activities;
- Promoting sustainable active nature tourism;
- Analysing and
discussing the potential that Sintra-Cascais territory has for the practice of
nature and adventure tourism;
- Discussing
the role of local tourism agents in the promotion and organization of nature
and adventure tourism programmes in Sintra-Cascais territory.
- Discussing
and reflecting upon marketing and merchandising strategies that associate
Sintra-Cascais to a nature and adventure tourism destination.
- Discussing
the role of different entities in the practice
and management of tourism and
adventure sports;
- Allow the
national public the contact with speakers experienced in sports and of high international level.
Subjects of the Congress
The Congress
will last three days and will focus on seven main subjects:
- Sustainability
– Tourism and Nature Sports;
- Innovation and Technologies in Active Tourism;
- Training in Nature Tourism and Sports;
- Risk and Security Management in Adventure Sports;
- Entrepreneurship,
Innovation and Active Tourism;
- Health, Physiology and Active Tourism;
- Tourism Animation Companies: Problems and Practices.
Submission
of Abstracts
This congress
will count on two lectures, a debate and about 32 papers. Besides invited
speakers, the organization of the Congress accepts
open papers.
If you wish to
present a 15-20-minute paper or poster within the subjects of the congress,
please send your proposal with the title and the abstract of the paper, either
in Portuguese or in English, between 500 to 1000 words (2 pages A4 maximum) to
the secretariat by e-mail

2007. The following information should also be mentioned in the
document:
- Names of the
authors, organization they represent, address and e-mail;
- Subject in which the paper is included;
- Type of
presentation (oral or poster);
- 3 to 5 keywords;
- Address, e-mail,
telephone and fax of the author.
If they are
selected for presentation, papers should be submitted until the referred date
to be included in the proceedings’ book. At least one of the authors of
the selected paper or poster for presentation will have to register for the
congress until 15th October.
