National Research Council - Institute for Service Industry Research (CNR - IRAT) ,

University of Naples “Parthenope”,

 

International Association of Maritime Economists  (IAME), and

 

Association for Tourism and Leisure Education (ATLAS)

4-6 October  2007, Naples, Italy

 

Aim

To focus and identify opportunities, issues and challenges for enhancing the competitiveness of the Cruise Shipping Industry and its role in supporting local development.

 

Conference Topics

Papers may deal with, but are not limited to, the following topics:

  1. Ship and shipbuilding technology;
  2. Ports and terminals;
  3. Strategies and operations;
  4. Safety and environment;
  5. Tourism and cultural heritage;
  6. Local development;
  7. Passenger Intermodality
  8. Policy.

 

Call for papers

The final deadline for abstract is 30th May 2007. Abstract should be no more than 150 words in length and should include:

a)      Title of paper;

b)      Topic area (from topic list above);

c)      A clear indication of the purpose of the paper;

d)      Name(s) of author(s);

e)      Institution/company;

f)        Full postal address, telephone, fax and e-mail address.

In line with the conference’s aim, papers which involve collaboration between industry and academia are encouraged.

 

Please indicate the person to whom the correspondence should be addressed.

Authors’ names should be on the title page only, in order to facilitate the blind refereeing process.

Papers and abstracts will only be accepted for review on the condition that the manuscript has not been copyrighted or previously published or presented/accepted for presentation at conferences, and is not currently under review for presentation at another professional meeting.

Authors must intend to register for, and attend, the Conference to present the paper if it is accepted.

All accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings, provided completed papers are received by the appropriate deadline and conform to the format requirements.

 

The official language of the conference is English.

May  30th , 2007:            Deadline for submission of abstracts

June  15th , 2007:            Notification of acceptance of abstracts

July 31th , 2007:            Deadline for submission of final papers

 

Conference Registration Fees

Company: 2.000 Euro (1-5 people)

Delegate: 400 Euro

Speaker: 200 Euro

Student: 100 Euro

 

All fees are in Euro and include V.A.T.
