1st QATEM Workshop - Quantitative Approaches in Tourism Economics and Management 

Theme: Efficiency and Performance

27 June 2008, Perpignan (France)

QATEM 2008 is the first event under a workshop series on Quantitative Approaches in Tourism Economics and Management. The workshop is organized by University of Perpignan and will be held in Perpignan (France) on 27 June 2008. By focusing on the theme of quantitative approaches in tourism economics and management, QATEM 2008 will provide an opportunity for gathering, analysing, and debating state-of-the-art academic research in this recent field of economic and management sciences. The first edition will be mainly devoted (but not limited) to the analysis of efficiency and performance in tourism industry. The scientific committee would welcome submissions on both parametric and non-parametric approaches. Theoretical contributions are also encouraged.

Publication: A selection of the papers presented at QATEM 2008 will be proposed for publication in a special issue of the international journal Tourism and Hospitality Research (Palgrave Macmillan).

Deadlines:

  • January 15, 2008: Deadline for Full Papers Submission
  • March 15, 2008: Acceptance/Rejection Deadline
  • June 27, 2008: Workshop in Perpignan

Barros (Technical University of Lisbon, Portugal), Walter Briec (University of Perpignan, France), Richard Butler (University of Strathclyde, UK),  Luis Gil Alana (University of Navarra, Spain), Graham Miller (University of Surrey, UK) Nicolas Peypoch (University of Perpignan, France), Bernardin Solonandrasana (University of Perpignan, France).

Participation fees: The workshop fee includes workshop registration, coffee-breaks, lunch and official dinner. Standard fee: 180€. PhD student fee: 90€.
