The SfAA is pleased to invite graduate and undergraduate students to
submit posters on the applied social science of tourism in competition
for the annual Valene Smith Prize. The winners will receive a certificate
and cash award ($500 for first prize and two honorable mentions of $250).
The prize is named for Valene Smith, who spearheaded the study of tourism
and edited the groundbreaking Hosts And Guests: The Anthropology of
Tourism.

Abstracts previously submitted as papers may be changed to posters
for the competition.
