Conference Aim:
The
aim of this conference is to bring together representatives from a
diverse range of organizations including those in the third sector,
public authorities, policy makers, industry and community
representatives, tourism researchers and others who recognize the
potential for positive outcomes of Tourism Sector – Third Sector
interaction. The third sector comprises value driven non-governmental
organisations which principally reinvest their surpluses to further
social, environmental or cultural objectives.
The
idea behind this conference is to provide an intellectual space to
explore the enormous potential that exists between the Tourism Sector
and the Third Sector. The conference streams provide a coherent logic
to the proceedings yet are diverse enough to allow for the articulation
of a wide range of multidisciplinary perspectives which it is hoped
will result in lively debate and provide new insights into the
interrelationship between Tourism and the Third Sector.
