Tourism in a Changing World: Prospects and Challenges

Kos Island, Greece

11.-14.09.2009

You are invited to submit a paper for a special session concerning the following topic:

Tourism Risks different perspectives.

This session pretends to go further on the overall understanding of risk as both a negative or positive influence. Specifically, we intend to discuss the amount of risk people wish to have and the risk they prefer to avoid. The topics of this session included but are not limited to the following:

  • Terrorism

  • Safety and security

  • Motivations

  • Novelty-seeking

  • Adventure and experiences

  • Culture

  • New forms of tourism

  • Natural disasters and climatic changes


Abstract Submission Guidelines

An abstract of no more than 300 words should be submitted by 10th of January 2009. The abstract should include title, name(s) of author(s), affiliations, postal and e-mail addresses. It should also clearly state the format of presentation (oral, poster or virtual). Abstract must be typed using Times New Roman, 12-point font, single spacing with justified alignment. Publication Plan

Abstracts of all papers presented at the conference will appear in a book of abstracts volume and there will be an edited volume of Conference proceedings. In addition, a selection of papers presented at the conference will be published in the Journals:
