organizers invite scholars and practitioners to submit papers for
presentation and publication in the conference proceedings. Papers of
a conceptual or empirical nature, particularly those written jointly
by scholars and industry practitioners, are most welcome.

Here
are some latest updates regarding the forthcoming 3rd
International Conference on Destination Branding
and Marketing to be held 2-4 December 2009 at the Institute for
Tourism Studies campus in Macau. In this update:

The International Journal of Culture, Tourism and Hospitality
Research (Prof. Arch Woodside, Chief Editor) to publish a Special
Issue on Destination Branding and Marketing compiled with select
articles from the 3rd DBM
Conference.

A sneak preview of Dr. Steven Pike’s (School of
Tourism, University of Queensland) address to conference delegates in
which he will dwell on the “complexities of destination branding
and marketing principles AND practice.”

A light-hearted short compendium of branding,
slogan and logo engineering and place-naming pitfalls.
