Call for Abstracts Deadline Extended

Extended abstract submission deadline: January 17, 2011

The abstract admission deadline for the Seventh International Congress of Arctic Social Sciences (ICASS VII) has been extended. The new submission deadline is Monday, 17 January 2011. The conference, entitled Circumpolar Perspectives in Global Dialogue: Social Sciences beyond the IPY, will take place in Akureyri, Iceland, 22-26 June 2011. Conference registration opens in January 2011.

Please go to www.iassa.org and submit you abstract on a special paper and poster abstract submittal form (www.iassa.org/abstracts). There you can also see a complete list of sessions and themes (www.iassa.org/programme).

Paper and poster proposals should contain:

- Title;

- Name and full contact details of the author(s);

- Abstract: A 250 words (max) summary; and

- An indication of which session the paper should ideally be presented in (see list of themes and sessions at www.iassa.org/programme) If the paper is already invited by a session leader, please indicate this. We strongly suggest that you provide more than one preferred placement for your presentation.

ICASS is held every three years and is a congress of the International Arctic Social Sciences Association (IASSA). ICASS VII will be hosted by the University of Akureyri, the town of Akureyri and the Stefansson Arctic Institute.

The 7th ICASS Host Organizing Committee consists of members representing the University of Akureyri, Stefansson Arctic Institute, Town of Akureyri, Arctic Portal, Northern Research Forum, Akureyri Travel, and The Icelandic Centre for Research (Rannis).
