CONTRACT NOTICE

Short description of the contract or purchase(s):
The study should examine the feasibility of a virtual tourism observatory. It should include the creation of an up-to-date reliable data set covering the main activities of the tourism sector, identifying the appropriate indicators, assess existing data sources, the availability and reliability of their data and propose specific actions that the observatory should undertake to cover eventual gaps. Other activities of the observatory should include regular reporting on the recent developments and trends, analysis of national policies, making new policy proposals, identifying policy-relevant papers and proposing directions for future policy analyses and studies. Finally, the study should evaluate the sustainability of the observatory and how it can be outsourced, after its set-up and initial management for a period of up to 3 years by the Commission.
