Ontario Tourism - Policies, Strategy and Data:

Ontario Tourism Strategy

The Ontario Tourism Strategy is a plan for the sustainability and growth of Ontario’s tourism industry. It responds to the need to focus the province’s diverse tourism industry to develop a strategic, long-term plan for tourism. The framework identifies areas for action through 2010 – some for the government to implement, some that the industry can work on and some that will require a partnership among several players in the tourism industry. As the strategy is living documents, we all need to think about priorities for the tourism industry, and identify what action is needed now and in the near future. All stakeholders in the tourism industry will be important partners in the success of the Strategy.

At the Tourism Federation of Ontario's Annual Conference (March 28-29, 2006), MTOUR presented "Ontario Tourism Strategy Implementation Plan: Accomplishments 2005-06 and Priority Directions 2006-07". This summary provides a report card of the ministry's key achievements to date and its priorities of the implementation process as the Ontario Tourism Strategy continues to move forward.
